
My career with Wolseley UK started in 1983 as a Warehouse Operative and by 1995 I had progressed into the role of Shift Manager. During this time I was involved in a wide range of activities and projects. These included involvement in the design and build of a brand new distribution centre in Worcester, which I was later running as the Distribution Centre Manager.
I am now responsible for the Wolseley UK distribution network nationally and thrive on working in a fast paced environment which is constantly changing. The business changes through cycles and therefore the distribution network needs to adjust accordingly, which makes my role both challenging and exciting. I also enjoy being part of a team where everyone is given the opportunity to progress their career if they are prepared to consistently go the extra mile.

I joined Wolseley UK in January 2006 as a Stock Control Manager and since then have taken additional accountability of the Systems and Admin teams. My main areas of responsibility are to manage the internal IT systems and systems team to ensure the site has a fully operational Warehouse Management System 24/7, to manage the stock control team in order to maintain stock integrity for the 65,000 products stocked at the NDC, and manage the Helpdesk Admin team which assists with customer enquiries.
I enjoy working in distribution as there are always new challenges to be met, such as new brands coming onto the site plus cost saving initiatives and site efficiency projects. There is an excellent team ethic at the National Distribution Centre which makes it a really great place to work.
I joined Wolseley UK in 2005 as a Warehouse Operative. I am now a Returns Coordinator and I run the returns area for BCGXL in Worcester Distribution Centre. I inspect stock that has been returned from our customers and decide whether or not the items would be adequate for re-sale. I also liaise with the admin and transport team to ensure the returns process runs as smoothly as possible.
I really enjoy the great understanding and rapport we have throughout our delivery network which makes my job a lot easier and enjoyable.
