Daniel Summers - Branch Manager – Electric Center, Coventry
"As Branch Manager I’m responsible for sales, costs and budgets, as well as making sure that everyone knows exactly what’s expected of them. We work as a team, but I set individual performance targets and suggest ways that my team can achieve them – including any training that they might need. My other key priorities include making sure that stock is always available so that we retain our customers. I’m also responsible for maintaining a healthy and safe environment for everyone to work in. When it comes to leadership, I like to think that I’m firm but fair. I’m pretty flexible when it comes to dealing with people and I know my team would not be afraid to come and speak to me if they had a problem at work."

"I started working at Wolseley 9 years ago and now I'm an Assistant Manager! I worked my way up from the shop floor so I've got a good understanding of how the business works. My manager Darrel, is really supportive. He's given me loads of advice on managing sales and costs as well as making a profit. I'm a pretty friendly and I like dealing with staff and customers. When Darrel is away I step into his shoes and manage the branch which is a great experience."
