Reaching the big 4-0 is an achievement but reaching 40 years within your job is a completely different level of achievement.  This month we are celebrating John Gadsdon, Deputy Branch Manager at Greenford.

John joined us 40 years ago on the sales counter at British Fittings in Alperton. Although a lot has changed in John's time at Wolseley in terms of technology and the range of products we sell, the basics of supplying customers and providing that all important fantastic customer service are still key to John.

Branch Manager, John Gadsdon said: “It’s been a pleasure working at Wolseley for the past 40 years, how time flies when you’re having fun huh? I have met some wonderful people within the business as well as the industry that have helped me build a great network of friends within the industry.”

When John joined us in 1978 the big films of the year were Grease, Saturday Night Fever and Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The Bee Gees’ ‘Stayin Alive’ and the Village people’s Y.M.C.A are two of the year’s biggest hits, what a year!

In his spare time, John enjoys watching sport, especially rugby, and listening to a bit of Led Zeppelin and David Bowie.
