In recent months we've been working closely with Northampton College to establish a partnership which will support and inspire the next generation of plumbers.

The partnership sees students learning using our Own Brand products in the classroom and workshop environment following the opening of the college’s new Advanced Construction Engineering Centre in September 2019.

Richard Ludlow, business development manager for Own Brand, explains: "This represents the next step in our close working relationship with the college. We have supplied a Raptor toolboard and tools for the classroom, as well as banners promoting our Own Brand products. This ensures our future customers are already trusting our in-house products making them their go-to purchase in the future.”

Mark Bishop, who is currently in discussions with our suppliers to help support the college's learning and development training on new innovations, explains: "We're looking to provide a platform to enable students from the college to shadow our colleagues in branch to learn how we do things."

John Kendrick of the college’s plumbing department adds: “Our relationship with Wolseley has gone from strength to strength since we started offering construction-based courses in 2018. This initial relationship has developed into a partnership of consistent support and commitment to training the next generation of plumbing and heating engineers.”

“Our students’ familiarity with Wolseley tools and materials is a huge advantage to them as they start their careers.  Often it can be quite a big step to go into a plumbers’ merchants and ask for the tools and materials you need for the day, but by giving the students the opportunity to work daily with Wolseley Own Brand products they gain the confidence to do so.

“I hope to continue to work closely with Wolseley in the future, adding more branding and products to the workshop to ensure students get the best possible experience and become the customers of the future for Wolseley.”
