Our approach to recruitment
We’re proud of the talent and dedication of our colleagues. It’s what makes our business so successful. Quite rightly, we ensure equality of opportunity and respect for all when we select new people.
Our recruitment process will likely start with a virtual interview. If we believe you could be right for the job, we’ll arrange a face-to-face interview. Depending upon the role you’re applying for, we may ask you to do a presentation, or an ability test. But don’t worry, we’ll give you plenty of time to prepare.
Our recruitment process
Apply through our careers website
Once you’ve found a job that suits your skills and experience, follow the online application and upload your CV.
We’ll review your application
We’ll review your CV and any other information you provide. Then, we’ll let you know if we want to take it further. If we do, we’ll arrange a phone interview.
We'll interview you over the telephone
A resourcing team colleague will call to ask a few questions about your experience and the skills needed for the job.
We'll interview you in person
The next step will involve meeting the hiring manager and a member of the team you could be joining. During the interview we’ll be looking for examples of your skills and experience to show why you’re right for the job.
For some roles we might ask you to another interview to meet a senior manager. We may ask you to do a presentation or an ability test.
We'll let you know our decision
After your interviews, we’ll get back to let you know our decision. If you’ve been successful, we’ll make you a verbal offer and talk you through all the details. Then we’ll follow up with a formal written offer, subject to references and background checks.
Our use of agencies
We try to fill all our vacancies without the help of agencies. But of course, sometimes we do need to use agencies from our preferred supplier list. When this happens, the roles can only be placed with the agencies by the resourcing team.
We review our preferred supplier list every year, so if your agency would like to provide recruitment services to Wolseley UK, please email email@example.com with the subject heading ‘Preferred Supplier List Application’ and we’ll keep your details for consideration. Please note that we don’t accept unsolicited CVs from any suppliers who aren’t on our preferred supplier list.
