Supporting homeless charities in East Anglia and Bedfordshire

In recent weeks, the business has been pleased to be able to offer support to a couple of great community initiatives aimed at helping the homeless in both East Anglia and Bedfordshire. 

Aaron Services - a large customer in both regions - contacted us to ask if we could support them by supplying materials free of charge for the projects, and we obliged! 

Simon Bocarro, our Area Sales Manager in the region, explains: “I took over the account with Aaron Services last August, and since then, I’ve been trying to strengthen our relationship and explore potential opportunities to support local projects. 

“I’ve been having regular chats with the firm’s Customer Liaison Officer who asked if we’d want to contribute to these projects. The first of these was a request from Ipswich Housing Action Group (IHAG) to supply and install new a heating system at a homeless shelter in the town, and the second was a similar request for the King’s Arms Project in Bedford.” 

IHAG helps over 3,000 homeless people a year in and around Ipswich, offering shelter, warmth and food to those who have unfortunately fallen on hard times, while the King’s Arms Project does similar, coming to the aid of homeless and disadvantaged people in Bedford. 

Simon adds: “Our EF Ipswich branch supplied Vaillant boiler and Centerstore cylinder while our EY Bedford branch supplied a Baxi boiler, and then Aaron, who was of course very grateful for our support, completed the installs at both sites.  We’re already seeing the business benefits of having shown once again to a big customer that we are both reliable and committed to doing good in the community.” 

Following the install in Ipswich, IHAG said: “Huge thanks to Aaron Services and Wolseley, who gifted our Housing Manager Giles a new boiler for one of our properties (and fitted it too!). Local support is so important to us.” 

Matt Croxon, King’s Arms Project Operations Manager, echoed those sentiments, adding: “A big thank you to both Aaron Services and Wolseley UK for the free of charge boiler replacement at one of our properties. The impact for us as a charity with boiler breakdowns of this nature are significant, so to have the expert help and support has been amazing!”
