Following the recent transformation of our brand to Wolseley, we have been busy ensuring that everything, including colleague uniforms, reflect these new and exciting changes. This has given us a great opportunity to review our workwear supplier and ensure that the uniform we provide is ethically, environmentally and sustainably sourced.

As a business we work hard to make sure that we conform to high ethical and fair-trading standards. With this in mind, we wanted to ensure that our old uniforms were recycled with minimal environmental impact and done in a way that ensures we met our compliance requirements.

We work with suppliers that share the same sustainable ethics as we do. Our supplier, Dimensions Corporatewear, belongs to the Ethical Trading Initiative and Sedex, an online platform that ensures businesses are working with supply chains that acknowledge the rights, health and safety and business ethics of workers across the globe.

Over 500 old uniforms have been collected so far and, where possible, they’ll be sorted and recycled into new clothing. Material that can’t be reused for fibres or clothing will be used for filling and insulation, such as mattress or car door padding.

We are very proud of our sustainability work here at Wolseley UK, where minimising our impact on the environment matters.
