Neil Southgate makes his Wolseley return, having recently taken on a new role as General Manager at our London City branch.

He was previously with the business at what was then Drain Centre in Barking - starting in the warehouse and eventually working his way up to becoming branch manager before leaving for pastures new.

Now that he's back on the scene, we caught up with him to reconvene and reintroduce him to Wolseley!

So, Neil... welcome back! What brought you back to Wolseley?
I wanted to return to Wolseley as I believe we are best placed to offer our customers first class service right from having stock right through to delivery of the material on site.

How have you found your first few days/weeks?
Remembering without customers we are nothing and how our colleagues within the business are dedicated and hard working.

What are you hoping to achieve in your Wolseley career?
I want to lead my branch to the next level in terms of customer service and expand our existing customer portfolio.

What’s the most interesting fact about yourself that no one will know?
Many people have asked, but I can confirm that I am not related to the England manager Gareth Southgate.

What was your dream job growing up?
I really wanted to be an astronaut!

What are your biggest hobbies away from Wolseley?
Travelling. And I am a keen sports fan - mainly football, cricket and golf. I'm a West Ham season ticket holder.

Who would you choose to play you in film on your life and what genre would it be?
Tom Davis in an action movie - I look like him apparently!

If you could eat one thing for the rest of your life what would it be?
You can't beat a good old Sunday roast, then Mexican for the rest of the week.
