My Wolseley… with Sally-Anne Griffiths, HR Director

Why I joined?
The attraction of a supportive, friendly and approachable business environment, one where people very clearly matter, was just irresistible to a people person like me.  I love the pride I see in working for Wolseley, and our team of over 5,000 colleagues puts so much in to delivering outstanding customer service across the communities we serve.  For me, the opportunity to be part of that, to contribute and make a real difference, encouraged me to get on board almost six years ago to the day.

Why I stay?
We have a very commercially-focused HR team here at Wolseley, at the heart of our business. This makes the development of our people strategy much easier, and we can help shape, influence and support business strategy through the lens of our people.  I’m proud to lead such a dedicated team of HR professionals, and together we’re constantly looking at how we can improve the support we deliver to help our business grow.

Why I love it?
As a member of the Leadership Team, I’m able to affect real change and improvement.  I am passionate about people, and it’s energising to see colleagues across Wolseley evolve and develop as they reach their potential.  It’s also great bringing new people into Wolseley from elsewhere. Everyone has a different perspective and that helps our business change and grow.  I have new challenges every day, every week and every month, and my job is never, ever, boring.  The opportunities are endless, and Wolseley is a place where everyone can be themselves. What more could I ask?
